Since graduating from Baylor Law School, Jimmy has enjoyed a diverse experience as an attorney before specializing in family law. He brings this diverse experience as well as his experience as a parent and husband to assist our clients and their families. As a parent and husband, he can understand and relate to what divorcing parents are facing. Jimmy is also trained in collaborative family law and is a mediator hired by other attorneys to help facilitate settlement of family law disputes.

He works hard to settle and resolve disputes and takes a balanced and creative approach to all of his cases whether in collaborative law, traditional divorce, appeals or when he is a mediator for other attorneys. However, when it is not possible to settle and resolve a dispute, he has the skills to zealously represent our clients and their families in court.

In addition, for more than 25 years, Jimmy has represented individuals and companies in civil appeals before the Courts of Appeal and the Texas Supreme Court involving diverse issues including family law matters. He has a unique insight into the decision making process, having served as the staff attorney for Justice Jack Hightower on the Supreme Court of Texas from 1989-1995. During that time, Jimmy assisted Judge Hightower in drafting opinions and making recommendations concerning whether the Court should grant review in various discretionary appeals and original proceedings. He has also had the remarkable experience of being present in the Court’s conferences in which the Court discussed opinions, decision making and the recommendations of which discretionary appeals and original proceedings to review.
