After graduating from Texas A&M University, Janet taught school in College Station. Subsequently, she attended and graduated from Whittier College School of Law in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from law school, Janet returned to Texas to take up the practice of law. Initially, her practice consisted of insurance defense matters, but her love of being in the courtroom lead her to contested divorce and child custody cases. Over the years she has developed the reputation as a strong advocate for her clients and has handled countless contested custody matters and divorces involving complex property. Janet's experiences as a mom, a divorced parent, a wife, as well as a former teacher, bring a practical aspect to the advice that she gives to parents and an understanding of the struggles that confront parents who are divorcing.

Although most of her cases are settled through negotiation or the mediation process, there are times when issues cannot be resolved amicably and a client needs a strong advocate in the courtroom. Janet is a respected trial advocate and is frequently sought out by clients who want an experienced professional to represent them in the courtroom.
